Claire Tighe has many years’ experience working as both a qualified nurse and a Home Manager in nursing homes. Claire qualified from Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Health Authority in 1992 as a Level 1 ENB General Nurse, going on to gain further qualifications over the next few years including NVQ Level 4 Registered Manager (Adults) in 2006. Claire is responsible for the smooth running of the home and is available Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 4.30pm and any other time by appointment.
Maria Samuels handles all administration within the home and is the main point of contact for all funding matters. Maria has achieved NVQ Level 3 in Administration and Diploma’s in Customer Services and Supervisory Skills.
Sue prepares nutritious home made food daily using home grown fruit and vegetables. The home holds the Lancashire County Council Food Hygiene 5 Star award and Recipe 4 Health Gold Award
Hobby Therapist Team
Our team always has a full program of activities arranged either for groups of residents or individuals. Activities include hobbies, crafts, entertainers and external day trips such as the recent visit to the Antiques Road Show.
Nursing and care staff
The Manager, Clare oversees more than 40 staff 6 of which are qualified nurses, the remainder are care assistants and ancillary staff. Several of the staff have many years service at The Grove and are very experienced. All members of staff are continually trained with regular update sessions by in–house and external assessors. The home has 3 qualified End of Life Champions and 4 Dementia Champions.
