Covid19 has been an extremely difficult time for all.

Our main priority throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic has been to protect our residents and staff. Because of this, we have put in place some extremely robust procedures to ensure the risk of COVID-19 to both our existing residents and staff is minimised.

We are open for admissions

New residents are welcome subject to evidence of recent negative COVID-19 tests and are safely admitted to their new room and given a warm welcome from our whole team.  New residents will be carefully monitored during their first 14 days with us before joining other residents in the communal areas of the home. Arrangements can be made for key family member visits. 

Testing update

To support our new visiting arrangements and ensure we are all kept safe as we can, we have now put in place a system of regular retesting for both residents and staff.

Residents will have already had at least one test undertaken and will now be tested initially on a monthly basis; staff will be tested weekly. This system is to help protect residents from the virus by ensuring anyone who does test positive can be safely isolated and gain dedicated treatment and support.

At Walton Care Ltd we are frequently updating our policies and procedures in line with Government and Public Health advice and keeping our residents, relatives and stakeholders fully informed. 

Infection Control

All staff have been trained in infection control procedures and been provided with full PPE.  We have always maintained high stock levels of PPE and continue to have a good supply route. 

We have increased our cleaning regimes and added regular deep cleans using specialised equipment.

Visitors

We are currently guided by national and local government regarding visitors to the homes. This is changing on a regular basis and we will contact family members as the restrictions change. When visits are allowed our visitor policy applies (see below). During periods of lockdown we will try to accommodate window visits and you can contact the activity coordinator to arrange a convenient time. Window visits will require the resident to have their own mobile phone and not require assistance during the call.
